Dalam Present Progressive, kita menggunakan auxiliary verb “to be” (am, is, are).
Dalam percakapan sehari-hari, bentuk contracted (singkat) sangat sering digunakan.
Struktur dasar:
subject + am / is / are + verb + ing
Contoh:
She is reading a book.
They are playing football.
1. Affirmative Forms
Bentuk singkat dibuat dengan menggabungkan subject + to be.
